In 2007, I was going through a really dark period of my life. I took an art class through adult education for the purpose of making myself get out of my house. Little did I know how much that would change my life.
Since that first class, I have been on many emotional journeys in life, which have brought about some beautiful pieces. I have been a poster artist for the 2010 Capitola Begonia Festival and the 2013 Capitola Art & Wine Festival.
I wanted to create this site so all of my family and friends could see the work I have done. I still stand back from a painting and often burst into tears over what I have created. I thank God every day for this gift as I have no doubt that he is the source of my strength and creativity. I will always be grateful for my teacher and friend, Gerry Bartlett, who passed away suddenly in October 2012. I will miss her forever and think fondly about her for all the encouragements, praise, support, and gentle instruction she gave to me. I have taken several drawing classes in my life, but none brought out the creative side in me like Gerry did. I encourage all to pursue different avenues of release from life. You never know what is going to transform you. I must also remind myself that it is often the darkest times that bring about the most amazing changes in life.
